Christ Church

Summer Music Festival 2026

Beginning in 2026, we are delighted to present a week of music at Christ Church, presented by a wide variety of world-class performers, with four events over five days during the late August Bank Holiday weekend. Refreshments are available at all of the events, and a fully licensed bar will be running during the evening concerts.

Tickets for each event are £10 (£5 for children/students), but a weekender ticket for access to all events can be purchased for a discounted rate of £25 (£10 for children/students). All ticket details are available below.

Wednesday 26th August – 1pm

Duo Tânwen

Flutist Ruby Howells and harpist Bonnie Scott, who have known each other since early childhood, have a particular passion for performing works by female, underrepresented, and global majority composers. They also enjoy programming music by Welsh composers, in honour of their joint Welsh heritage — and this connection was key in choosing their ensemble name.

Festival Orchestra

Join us for the second evening concert of our inaugural Christ Church Summer Music Festival, with our headline concert of the festival, featuring the Christ Church Music Summer Festival Orchestra.

We open with the cosmopolitan soundscape of George Gershwin’s An American in Paris with its blazing jazz harmonies and vibrant orchestration, before traveling halfway across the globe to the operatic world of Bizet’s Carmen Suites, featuring lively Latin rhythms and soaring melodies. The second half of our programme features the might of the pipe organ alongside the full symphony orchestra in Saint-Saens Organ Symphony, a monumental work renowned across classical and popular culture for both its lush harmonies and its immense power.

Refreshments will be provided at our fully licensed bar before the concert, as well as in the interval.

Join us for a truly one-of-a-kind evening, and what will surely be a highlight of our musical programme at Christ Church.

Sunday 30th August – 1pm

Solar Brass

Join us for the closing concert of our inaugural Christ Church Summer Music Festival, featuring acclaimed brass septet, Solar Brass. They will present a programme of popular works inside the church, before an extended interval to provide ample time for an outdoors barbecue on the church green. Solar Brass will then join everyone outside for a second set of music, in true Last Night of the Proms style.
